I came with an open mind, but this was mostly the rantings of a schizoid. If the writer has such strong evidence of Lex being an Israeli agent, yet why does he never show actual evidence? Why does the author ask a question, imply wrong doing, but then never answer the question? Strange.
I've long been thinking about writing a Substack article about Lex Fridman being astroturfed but I never really knew where to start. It was just a hunch I had, so I didn't want to slander him as a spy or whatever without any proof -- just based on my gut feeling and gossip -- and I never bothered to spend the time to do the research. Maybe I will use this article as inspiration / as a jumping off point.
Someone is not getting their money’s worth, the man never takes a position on anything. If he has Darryl Cooper on that will settle it that he’s a good guy.
It is no longer crazy to hypothesize that media personalities like Friedman and Shapiro work either explicitly or implicitly as Zionist agents. This is very significant because Zionism, by its very definition, requires adherents to place “the tribe” above all others, even if this means compromising one’s own country.
Interesting comment; it would be easier if Zionists lived in Israel or planned to do so eventually. Three problems:
1. U.S. government positions held by dual/non-US citizens. When Yellen was governor of the Federal Reserve System (before Jay), her vice-chair was Stanley Fischer. He had just served as governor of the central bank of Israel. Also, Fischer isn't a great economist; better than Yellen, but that's not saying much. Obama admin arranged it. Trump ended it. The head of Ukraine's central bank was an American woman at a senior level in the US State Dept. She isn't Jewish. She holds dual Ukrainian-US citizenship and was a co-worker of Vicky Nuland pre-2014. She's back working in D.C. now.
2. Until the mid-1960s, most Israel funding was by religious organizations (some Jewish, some Christian) and individuals. Of the latter, some were Zionists; they intended to move to Israel permanently. Then there was a shift (approx. 10 years before regime change in Iran, but I'm not suggesting that was the motivation). Do be aware that saying one is a Zionist these days in the U.S. will elicit similar responses as saying women's suffrage was a bad idea. Most American Jews are leftists, atheists, and intermarry if they have any children.
3. Israel needs to make friends in its own neighborhood. That seemed like a real possibility until recently.
Great insight. The next decade is going to be interesting. I’m convinced that it is almost impossible for the US to extricate itself from Israel. Israel’s hegemonic and ethno-colonial aspirations are so intertwined with the US “mission” I simply cannot fathom it can be undone. At least not diplomatically, economically or culturally. Thoughts?
One of the great ironies is the ways in which the conservative movement in the US has embraced Israel. Their evangelical fever-dreams of the faithful floating up into the sky to meet God must have the Zionists in stitches.
Hello, khh. Thank you for the nice reply. I'm sorry for taking so long to return.
American evangelicals who believe in the Rapture (to which you alluded), are increasingly nonplussed by atheist American Jews' hostility toward them. Zionists in Israel aren't hostile to American evangelicals. Why? Overlap in the western cannon. E.g. common interests such as archeological excavations in the region. Many projects are funded by both groups. They hope for and occasionally find physical corroboration of Biblical scripture like the Dead Sea scrolls, and associated references in Greco-Roman records.
Our proxy war with Russia is unravelling US diplomatic relations, with the exception of the UK and EU. (After balking for a few months, EU countries fell into line, or even sacrificed themselves, e.g. Germany's deindustrialization.) I'm unsure re Likud, but Netanyahu's predecessor, Bennett, had zero interest in supporting Ukraine. Ukraine voted against Israel in 20 out of 20 UN votes with Zelensky in office.
As much as I love the type of long freestyle interviews that Rogan popularized and Fridman is now giving a more intellectual touch, I've been wary of his origins for some time. He claims to be a Russian-born Jew with Russian & Ukranian roots who migrated to the US with little to nothing, but somehow he surpassed Rogan in fame in no time, by managing to get every expert in every field to talk with him? That sure is... odd...
With him recently uploading pictures of his martial arts sparring sessions with Elon Musk and him just uploading an interview with Netanyahu, it's hard not to suspect him being a Mossad agent. The martial arts training definitely fits the profile. And it sure would explain his remarkably fast rise to fame, as well as his access to highly influential people only a very select few have access to.
He needs a good slap. He's the definitive gamma-male racist. I urge you to look into Israeli military unit 8200 for technology spying and theft which is a global operation and can be researched on LinkedIn.
If he's about promoting Likud he's very bad at it. All he talks about is computer stuff and miscellany.
Is this that thing where the centrist generalist libs are just assumed to be horrible subversive Jews or in service of, because of how much they don’t act all partisan and dogmatic?
Hello, Dain! It is I, your Twitter friend Ellie. I'm not sure why everyone is commenting on this 2+ year old post of Charles's, but they are!
Lex doesn't convey any affiliation to Likud. I don't enjoy his podcasts or even Joe Rogan's, as they are so loooooooong! Like 2 to 3 hours. Lex doesn't seem clever enough to be subversive but maybe he's just a lot sneakier about it than I realize. You might enjoy this, "Lex Fridman Won't Stop Humiliating Himself" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vHrnH46ViTA It gets really good around 7 min 30 sec
The thoughts shared are long and complex and there are many assumptions that seem find the next assumption. In other words, it reads as biases confirming biases.
I’m bias myself. I’m a fan of Lex and I believe in his humanity/humility.
Could you share anyone that you do believe in? I’m curious.
Eh.. computer vision algorithms are “just cameras”, and your conspiracy theories are just questions.. ok bro
I do wonder about the exceptional quality of guests he had even early in his podcasting career, but i guess it’s just bc he was using an underutilized niche supply from MIT as an early podcast bro credentialized in MIT.
Hello, Charles. I have been curious about Lex Friedman's background too! I noticed how he was adulated on LinkedIn, in 2021. I couldn't ascertain if he had a PhD, quite what or where he studied, and the chronology was irregular. Odd how he presented himself as a full-time PhD post-grad physicist. Peculiar to do that AND have an active podcast, make lengthy LinkedIn posts and engaging with replies, etc. Lex seems to live rather comfortably, and travel a lot, which is also odd.
Drexel used to be a small college in Philadelphia, offering degrees in a narrow slice of the applied sciences and engineering. It was a smaller version of Temple U, "the working man's college". Students were mostly male, part-time, employed, and older than 25. Since 2010, it received a lot of attention and money. Now it is a university with full-time students and national visibility.
You mentioned NN Taleb. He is a nice man. Well, that's not the best way to put it! The longer I know him, the more I appreciate him. Humble brag: we are mutuals on Twitter. We do similar work, focusing on probability in its own right, not merely a subdomain of statistics. Except I don't function at his level!
I should add that according to an anecdote that Jamie told live on air, President Reagan had agents watching Hot Dog Harry. You have to wonder why. I can provide this clip to you upon request.
Jamie's dad Michael wrote the book about Hot Dog Harry (see link below), because somehow, magically, Micheal was close friends with Hot Dog Harry. It seems to me that Harry is a Mossad agent, thus the connection. Just read a little about Hot Dog Harry, and you'll realize that he's intelligence.
Mossad agent for sure and I’ve thought that. Comes out of nowhere, really popular for no reason. The way he looks at and talks to his guests…you just know he’s done interrogations. He has the eyes of someone who has tortured people.
I came with an open mind, but this was mostly the rantings of a schizoid. If the writer has such strong evidence of Lex being an Israeli agent, yet why does he never show actual evidence? Why does the author ask a question, imply wrong doing, but then never answer the question? Strange.
Very strange. Mosssd?
This is because he is inflicted with severe stupidity. So dumb. The comments are equality idiotic.
Good stuff

I encourage you to dig in to it, Christopher !

AI is the jew "messiah", or so they think. But it will turn out to be their undoing!
AI is disturbing. It is no one's messiah. I am afraid of how so many are drawn to AI.

Makes perfect sense - he’s so boring, nobody would suspect him.
Lots of words, lots of assumptions.

If you look into Joe Rogan's producer's past (goes by the name of Jamie), he is also connected to Mossad. Dig into it--you'll see.
Tell me more.
I should add that according to an anecdote that Jamie told live on air, President Reagan had agents watching Hot Dog Harry. You have to wonder why. I can provide this clip to you upon request.

If there is a spy agency out there dumb enough to work with Lex Fridmen they are not to be feared but pitied.
Mossad agent for sure and I’ve thought that. Comes out of nowhere, really popular for no reason. The way he looks at and talks to his guests…you just know he’s done interrogations. He has the eyes of someone who has tortured people.
