Your Grandfather's Democratic Party Returns: Day 3 at the Democratic Convention in Chicago
Among the New Democrat and the Return of the World War II Coalition
There probably aren’t many people who can lunch with Nick Fuentes in the afternoon and party with the women of the Congressional Black Caucus in the evening.
I did both because you only get one life and I intend to live it.
What can I say? I like bringing people together over food or music and I’m happy to go wherever I’m invited.
Young Nicholas was kind of enough to say some nice things about me later. “[Charles] is like the most intelligent schizo who's right about everything ultimately,” my 26-year-old lunch companion later told his viewers on his livestream before directing them to come read my Substack. Thanks Nick!
If you’re a new young reader I welcome you. I remember how it felt to be a young man. It wasn't so long ago. I, too, found myself chaffing at the restrictions I found all around me. If I’m willing to be their “Uncle Chuck” it’s because I recall all too well how predatory and cruel the world is to young people just starting out. I remember, that, too. You better believe I do.
No, I don’t think it’s totally crazy to think that J.D. Vance’s fentanyl-fueled Indian mass immigration or Jared Kushner’s amnesty is against America’s youth is an existential, fundamental way. If I were a young person in my twenties, I’d hate Vance and Kushner all the more from taking my chance at hope — Donald J. Trump — from me.
For me there was no illusion of hope. Barack Obama — more on him in a moment — had his anti-white coalition of the ascendant. That left few places for a young middle class white kid like me and that was revealed in the anti-white discrimination I experienced when I applied to college. To the extent I can become a Democrat today it’s because the Democratic Party, having elected an old white guy as their president, has moved past these woke issues and the Supreme Court has reduced (but not eliminated) anti-white discrimination as a matter of admissions policy.

Nick Fuentes is not your typical young man. At the tender age of 26, he has, after all, been smeared by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and — as of last night — by none other than Senator Chuck Schumer, Senate Majority Leader.
This is predatory behavior from a senior U.S. Senator was frankly more than a little unbecoming but what can you expect from Schumer? One of his daughters work for Facebook and the other works for Google which turned child abuse into a digital assembly line.
Biden tells us about how he gave his best to America. Obama tells us about another man’s cock. That’s about right. Another convention, another missed opportunity for Obama to come out of the closet himself…
Didn’t Obama seem older than Biden tonight? It’s because his style of politics is dated.
To be sure, all efforts to get power or money involve some degree of compromising. But there’s a difference between compromising and being compromised.
In his farewell speech President Biden points out that the pro-Palestinian protestors had a point. We’ll see how sharp that point is in a Harris Administration.
My otherwise reasonable friend Peter D’Abrosca notes that Governor Tim Walz — who I had predicted would be the nominee at 50:1 odds — is arguing that Walz is too closely associated with the Chinese. He’s not, of course. Walz is pictured with the Dalai Lama and the pro-democracy protestors from Hong Kong. The Chinese Communist Party isn’t a fan of that sort of thing. Say does either Donald Trump or Elon Musk have a photo with the Dalai Lama?
Shortly after D’Abrosca’s report both Fox News and the very Russian-Israeli aligned Washington Free Beacon cribbed D’Abrosca’s research and revealed that they really have nothing. The suggestion by the Republicans is that Walz is some sort of Chinese sleeper agent but it seems fairly obvious that he’s actually an American one.
Our friends at Fox News struggle to understand political machines. They really can’t understand working as a team. The anchors were taught to understand that they were the message in Roger Ailes’s memorable phrase. They can’t understand sacrificing for a cause. “America I gave my best to you,” Biden told us.
Fox News built Obama and Trump up by first condemning them but both Obama and Trump are the product of organized crime. Obama and Trump were about themselves and the world is moving past them.
I’ve been to a lot of Republican events — Clearview.AI was founded at the 2016 Republican convention in Cleveland, for example — and Republicans have a certain look.
So, too, do Democrats. Looking at both groups I can say quite comfortably that I fit neither’s sense of fashion or style. But then again the best leaders made the parties their own.
In 2000 Obama wasn’t allowed on the main floor of the L.A. Convention. In 2004 Obama was the speaker. In 2008 he was the nominee. In 2012 he was the president. These things change. Now he seems so tired, so boring, so yesteryear. “We’re not going back” works against Trump as it does against Obama.
But what’s clearly happening in our politics is a restoration to an older Democratic Party that cared about workers and the country.
The World War II coalition was
Patriotic Italians and Jewish mobsters
The French, of course
The British nerds and not the Toff traitors.
The U.S. Navy (both Beau and Hunter attended…)
The Chinese deep state and not the Chinese mob
The Russian deep state and not the Russian or Russian Jewish mafia.
And the German Americans, who, fresh from the Midwest, sought to prove that their Lutheran Christianity had something to say.
Tim Walz hails from West Point, Nebraska.
He’ll do great as a Vice President.
And maybe, just maybe he’ll bring back not just joy but empathy. Augustus means "majestic," "the increaser," or "venerable".
Isn’t it impossible to imagine any of the Trump kids being this excited?
Lastly, I Love Gus!
Plus the back story about his sister.
