I can hear you now, my young friend, asking me about the future. “I love your ‘stacks, Uncle Chuck, but what does the future hold for all of us?”
Funny you should ask. This man, Jeffrey Epstein, gets you a lot of the way there. Ask yourself why you have the views you do of dear old Uncle Jeff. Who put them in your head? And why?
Gather ‘round, my friends young in body and spirit, for I have a lot to teach you and not much time to get it all out before I have to return to more remunerative work.
I do not want you to think that I am one of those teachers who cannot do; I am one of those doers who is compelled to teach. Whether that compulsion comes from my masters or by nature, I leave for others to say.
This was a big week for the the children. Let us count the victories: the jailing (and earlier suicide) of the Backpage.com founders, the arrest of Pavel Durov for child sexual abuse (among other offenses), and the invalidation of Section 230 in the Tik Tok case. Not bad, not bad. We like to see it! As you know, I sued Twitter to invalidate Section 230 — way back in 2018. I may well have lost the court case but it looks I did win the argument. Good.
Still, it wasn’t all good news. The Department of Justice’s Inspector General report that the FBI does a very bad job dealing with “hands-on sex offenses against children” should prompt more careful reflection about other bits of the FBI which are clearly broken.
If it’s this bad at dealing with child molestation how good is it at finding foreign spies in its midst? And more precisely, how many American FBI agents — like the late FBI agent Robert Hanssen and Charles McGonigal — and are foreign intelligence assets?
Or maybe — just maybe — the tipping function itself is broken. In my own forays with the FBI I learned that they tend to investigate a matter only when the NSA or a foreign power makes it a federal case. This is particularly dangerous when a Confidential Human Source risks their life to get information — only to have it be ignored by higher ups within the FBI (but not apparently within the NSA).
What gives?
Allow me to posit a theory: Both the CIA and the FBI are a lot more compromised than we have previously acknowledged—and this is used by the NSA to leverage them into behaving.
Milton Friedman used to say that politics isn’t about getting good men to do good things but about getting bad men to do good things. So, too, with counterintelligence.
A NSA-affiliated friend of mine and I talk a lot about how former FBI or CIA agents we encounter seem to have gotten punished—and are being forced back into the field where they can redeem themselves. And yet what often seems to happen is that they get more compromised. Eventually the NSA gets involved and the whole matter gets cleaned up. The key word being “eventually.”
Finally, by way of bias let me just say that I really don’t like talking about child endangerment issues given my own past mistreatment by a close relation. I prefer my investments do the talking — and to help law enforcement do the jailing. I am remarkably proud of Clearview.AI’s role in busting pedophile rings around the world.
When I die, I want it written on my tombstone that I invested in companies that worked especially closely with The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.
No, I have not been idle in this fight to protect America’s children.
I hate the tech companies for what they’ve done to a generation of young people, myself included.
No, I really wasn't kidding when I wrote that the Google-backed Electronic Frontier Foundation defended the "right" of Backpage to traffic children. Clearview.AI biographer Kashmir Hill’s husband, Trevor Timm, worked for EFF when it supported Backpage’s right to traffic children.
Kashmir, for all her virtues, isn’t really capable of talking about the intelligence community actions around Clearview. It’s not her beat — “privacy” is — so perhaps she could be forgiven but this lack of curiosity is somewhat surprising especially given the rather obvious connections of Clearview’s cofounders. Do I really need a neon sign on my back saying “Deep State Inc.”?
Now Google has changed in recent years... and become a creature of the U.S. intelligence community. Google still needs some clean up and needs to fire some of its more ridiculous employees. Why did nearly everyone get fired from Josh Marcuse’s division save him? Really makes you think!
Lately the Texas-Clearview-Google news is kind of interesting here. Google is about to subpoena records from Clearview AI to show its business relationship with four Texas law enforcement agencies. The state sought a protective order earlier this year to prevent Google from subpoenaing Clearview for records, which was rejected.
This is is rather funny to me as my Clearview.AI cofounder Hoan Ton-That, who I am currently suing rather successfully, is claiming elsewhere that I never introduced him to the State of Texas even though there are emails and text messages showing that I introduced him to the State of Texas. Oh boy. Thank the Lord for dumb adversaries!
All that said, I don’t agree with Arthur Bloom that it’s directionally true that Q Anon was right. In fact, I think that the QAnon matter was a smokescreen for hiding other more troublesome questions about the ways in which people were blackmailed.

Part of the reason a lot of the Claremont Institute and the BAPists miseducate people about classical texts is that they then want to miseducate you about contemporary politics. Once they’ve lied to you about the classics they can lie to you about the present.
But the most powerful people in the world train you to see the world. The most dangerous people in the world distract you from seeing the world.
We might call the first group “teachers.” We might call the second group “traitors.”
The best teachers are gifted and the worst traitors are cursed. Alas, no gift is without a curse—and no curse is without its temptations.
If you have that gift — the gift of perception — it is not for free. No gift comes without strings! I have spent much of my life running from my gifts or thinking my gifts were other than they were. Do not make my mistakes, dear reader.
This gift of seeing clearly comes with it a curse — and that is all the people trying to blind you or stab you in the back. You will find yourself skin-suited too who push you aside but you mustn’t get cross. They try to reap the profits of your gift but grow frustrated when they cannot quite get it to work. They throw up their hands and say it can’t be done but of course they never gave you the chance, did they?
Yes, my dear friend, you will find yourself under fire for seeing the world clearly. Do not allow it to make you embittered. Learn instead to see the enemy fire as the sort of advertising that it is. If you get in trouble send up a flare. You never know who might come to your aid.
The enemies of America are not capable of meeting our industrial might; they seek instead to mesmerize us or drug us into submission. In many cases our own internal weakness — our own sin, if you will — makes us their ally. In the worst cases of depravity we will even call it liberation. Do you think it a coincidence that all these types want you to play video games or join the metaverse? Heavens!

One of the frames we’ve talked about before is how America is reassembling the World War II coalition. Now we’re going to chat a bit about the Jewish and Italian mafia parts of that coalition.
Wars bring with them certain exigencies which are often hard to discuss once peacetime is re-established. It’s common to talk about how fast America was able to build things when we were under a war footing but it’s rare to talk about the role of the Italian mafia in making sure that the docks stayed open and that unions weren’t used to cause paralyzing strikes.
Which brings me, ultimately, to Donald Barr, who was headmaster from the Dalton school, and who worked for a brief moment in the Office of Strategic Services (OSS), the forerunner of the CIA.
You’re supposed to believe that Barr’s short stint at OSS and Jeffrey Epstein’s rather short stay at Dalton are somehow indicative of some massive deep state conspiracy even though Epstein began teaching at Dalton the same year — 1974 — in which Barr was forced to resign.
We’re not big supporters of the New York Times Likud Times here and so we read with caution whenever they write about a contentious story. We haven’t forgiven them for publishing fake photos of Barack Obama, no sir!
From the Times we learn that Epstein seems to have given some people — years later — the “ick.” Okay, whatever. He was a 21 year old among 16 and 17 year olds in the mid-1970s. Is he supposed a monk? And crashing student parties may well have been a responsible thing to do. There’s even a soupçon that Jeffrey was gay. He’s described as a “flamboyant dresser.” As you know, Epstein is totally straight people!
My own prep school was chockablock with horny high school students behaving hornilly and you might have heard of a scandal or two from my years there.
One of my best friends in Middle School went to the Dalton School. It became a pretty Jewish place and Barr’s staunch Catholicism — we’ll get into that in a moment — likely would have turned off more than a few New York elite who sends their kids to Dalton. You’re not supposed to believe in anything other than yourself and the Almighty Dollar if you live in New York.
By the way and totally not incidentally, one of the best kept secrets about a lot of prep schools is how many of them are, in point of fact, places where mob cash can be laundered.
The headmaster Gardner Dunnan seems to have been who really hired Epstein after Barr’s rather domineering manner was laid bare. Ask yourself what sort of headmaster would compare himself to a tsar. It’s a bit much, no?
The school, which had been a progressive haven for the children of artists and writers, was undergoing a shift under a new headmaster. Donald Barr, the father of Attorney General William Barr, came in as a disciplinarian focused on beefing up the academics of the school, and on enforcing a strict code of conduct.
In a school known for creativity, administrators had prohibited denim jeans and “bizarre and eccentric costumes.” If Mr. Barr caught students using marijuana, he would often send them to therapy as a condition of staying in the school. He himself described his leadership style as “by ukase,” using the Imperial Russian term for an edict from the czar.
Staff members would sometimes turn students away from their morning classes; girls for skirts that were too short, and boys for hair that was too long.
In a rather long profile of Epstein’s time at Dalton there’s this obvious detail:
None of the female students who spoke to The New York Times in recent days remembered Mr. Epstein making unwanted physical contact with them, and he has not been accused of any crimes related to his time at the school.
Rather than allies, it’s pretty clear that Barr and Epstein were cultural opposites. I think much of the Epstein-Barr discourse ignores this obvious detail.
If they were rivals, even goes, then Bill Barr’s decisions to harm Epstein whilst in federal prison make even more sense.
More likely Barr annoyed the Board with his antics and Epstein annoyed the Barrs with his — let’s call it — “lifestyle.”
Totally normal stuff for Bill Barr's dad Don Barr to write a book about strongly disciplining children and then a few years later write a book about science fiction erotica.
If you were a secular Jew on the board of an elite private school how likely do you think you’d be keeping the Opus Dei-friendly Donald Barr around? I should think not.
And isn’t a little weird that Barr, who was born Jewish, was listed as a “Dutch Reformed” before presumably converting to Catholicism? One conversion strains sincerity but two? Well, that’s a bit much, no?
To be sure Barr’s expertise on the Italian mafia and its role in the film industry — he worked on a book about the Motion Pictures Association’s Hayes Code — would have been helpful for understanding the war effort but the OSS saw him as “physically unfit for overseas service.” The report concludes that he was of very little use to Research and Analysis given that he was sick.
One of the things that becomes clear is that a lot of organized crime and not a few domestic eugenicists and National Socialists joined the O.S.S when it became obvious that America was going to go to war with Herr Hitler.
If you’ve watched The Good Shepherd (2006) you get a sense for this games-within-games. Matt Damon’s character is tutored by a Dr. Fredericks who entices the young man to join a Nazi front group. Naughty teacher!
Fredericks, who is British and a closeted homosexual — but I repeat myself, makes a pass at Damon’s character who, unbeknownst to Fredericks, has already cut a deal with the FBI. We meet Dr. Fredericks again in Britain where we discover that he’s been British intelligence all along. Naturally we never discover if Fredericks had been play acting as a Nazi or if, in fact, Britain was a bit more Naziphilic than it had let on. (Narrator’s voice: Britain is always a lot more Nazi-friendly than it lets on, especially the Tories, and World War II was as much against the British Empire as it was against the Nazi one.)
And after the war all manner of things were forgiven and covered up. My friend DeAnna Calderón notes that Gavin Newsom’s dad (and Getty consigliere), Alfred Newsom, worked with former S.S. Gestapo member Otto von Bolschwing who had been brought to the U.S. by the CIA under Operation Paperclip.
Do you understand now that Pelosi wanted Newsom and that Joe Biden outmaneuvered her and Obama by picking Kamala?
How about why Peter Thiel has long been a Newsom donor despite Thiel being a Republican and Newsom being a Democrat?
Or why Newsom, always loyal to the Nazi-friendly Getty family, didn’t really want to build that high speed rail? Aren’t trains French and Japanese anyway?
Okay I’ll make it even simpler: Bill Barr is Opus Dei, Jeffrey Epstein is Jewish CIA, Pelosi is Italian mob, Biden is Irish mob done good, Newsom is the Nazi network, and Kamala Harris is French/Black Deep State.
But ain’t that America home of the free, ya?
