Listening to Kamala En Route To Tim Walz's Minnesota
Twitter suspension, hacking and my election suppression
A little housekeeping first: I’m grateful to all the new readers who have helped grow this website’s impact.
Please read and search the archives. Do consider becoming a paid subscriber. I try to keep up with all the messages and fan mail but I give priority to the paid subscribers.
You’ll notice that I’m trying to grow the ecosystem by promoting the work of other writers. Peter D’Abrosca and I have teamed up to go through all the “investors” of Musk’s Twitter purchase.
Arthur Bloom had a good first cut on it.
Now let’s link this ownership to what influencers seem to be boosted. The sort of substance-free conservatives like Jack Posobiec, Ian Miles Cheong, Ashley St. Clair, all of whom are extremely biased toward the Israeli side of the conflict in Gaza, are taking huge payouts. Meanwhile, the conservatives who support American interests are suppressed or banned. In other words, you should think of Musk’s Twitter purchase in part as a means of backing certain assets.
With this Saudi money backing a very pro-Israel set of influencers, this is a point of view that tends to agree with what Brett McGurk is advocating for within the Biden administration, which is Saudi-Israeli normalization. Such a deal is not in U.S. interests, and I can’t imagine the Saudi people have much time for the idea at this point, not that they have much say in the matter.
Arthur’s quite right about how a lot of the money is being used to pay off Trump-style influencers. At some point people are going to ask why Fidelity was paying Trumpist and/or foreign intelligence assets. I suspect that these payoffs show a deeper problem: that many of the so-called investors in Twitter/X are, in fact, foreign intelligence assets masquerading as “technology investors.”
I think more likely than not these “investors” deserve a lot closer scrutiny not only from the public but from federal law enforcement. Of course I’d be delighted to help on that vetting. More soon.
Shortly right after I wrote that post I had my iPhone hacked. I’m sure it’s just a coincidence… Oh and did I mention my Twitter account was suspended? At a certain point it all becomes a bit too coordinated.
Given that it was the U.S. deep state which sent me on my road trip I do somewhat wonder what took me so long to come here.

I’ve arrived at last in Minneapolis. I’m here to tour locations for the genomics lab we will be building.
Along the way, I also visited an e-bike/battery company in Cleveland. Careful readers of this Substack will know about my support of the Lobito corridor in Angola.
Having secured the copper we’re going to be checking the Chinese influence in Africa.
The first US shipment of copper from mines in the Democratic Republic in Congo to be transported by the Lobito Atlantic Railway has loaded.
A cargo of copper cathodes is headed to Baltimore after arriving by train at the port of Lobito in Angola on Aug. 19, Trafigura Group, which is part of a consortium with a concession for the line, said in a statement. The six-day rail journey demonstrated “the time efficient western route to market that is now available for minerals and metals produced in the Congolese Copperbelt,” the trader said.

A few quick remarks on Kamala Harris’s speech before the Democratic National Convention.
Hillary Clinton said takes a village to raise a child. Kamala Harris showed us her village.
There’s a lot to be said about Oakland actually being a kind of private-public partnership as distinct from the corruption and foreign imposition of Silicon Valley.
Consider its employers.
I’ll have more to say about Oakland and Berkeley later as I think the sort of politics there could explain a Harris administration.
I noticed her sister had impeccable credentials — Berkeley, Stanford, law review editor, prestigious law jobs, law professor and dean — but Kamala’s the one running for president and likely to win.
It’s not a coincidence that Mayor Sheng Thao is being driven from the scene right as Harris rises. Nor is it at all surprising that Harris’s turbulent childhood was given center stage. Harris wants to clean up Oakland and much of America from the crime that plagued it. “I believe everyone has a right to safety, to dignity and to justice,” she noted, explicitly noting Gaza and the U.S. border. It didn’t escape my notice that both Harris and Walz hail from border states.
So better bend the knee quick, Silicon Valley. We’re coming for you.
Charles, I left Twitter until it was not owned by Musk and cleaned up a few days ago.
