Is Peter Thiel the Antichrist? Or Just Another Silicon Valley Conman?
Why his efforts to scapegoat Musk won't really work
I watched with great attention Peter Thiel’s chat with Ross Douthat over at The New York Times.
I was pleasantly surprised with the line of questioning. Is Peter Thiel the Antichrist? Wouldn’t the Antichrist use Palantir to bring about the end of the world?
Hardly.
Palantir doesn’t even work. We’ve been over this. Many times.
Still, let’s watch the interview. Thiel did not look good.
Of course Peter Thiel isn’t the Anti-Christ. Palantir is a stock fraud as any cursory look at the numbers reveal. Look at that EV/Implied ARR — it’s 96.3!
Viewed one way it’s super patriotic that Palantir CTO Shyam Sankar joined the U.S. military. Viewed another way it’s a way of him getting in good with the Defense Department before it all goes to shit.
TSLA is a pool of equity with liquidity. It’s where various deep states go to pay tribute, have their networks of people put in money — all the way from big money to stirring up the proletariat.
Is Palantir any different?
I write Peter an email recently telling him to shut up.
Hey Peter,
You do know you are being set up every time you open your mouth right? And that you’re next once Elon is cut down to size?
While it looks like you navigated the feckless FBI well that’s simply not going to be the case with other government agencies. Nor is it going to be the case with other countries you’ve managed to piss off. I get a report on you or someone you are affiliated with almost every ten days now. It’s exhausting and I am tired of putting the focus on Elon.
Every time you do this stupid ego shit like the Ross Douthat interview you paint a big target on yourself. And for what?
What you should be doing is shutting up. To the extent you can be helpful at all it’s in coming to DC and figuring a way to unwind your positions and to stop them from causing additional harm. Every serious technical person knows it is vaporware.
You should be working on minimizing your presence. No interviews. No weird investments.
Just chill out and shut up.
We need these guys to stop lying. It’s annoying.
Now I’ll leave you with something:
What if the people organize the protests against Palantir are, in fact, the real deep state?
I read something recently in The Guardian about these protests:
The protest was organized by Planet Over Profit, a climate justice group that also organizes against systemic inequality, with support from immigrant rights group Mijente. Police broke up the demonstration after roughly an hour, and the six demonstrators who were arrested and taken to the seventh precinct were released by 11.20am.
Didn’t Mijente target Clearview.AI?
Isn’t Clearview.AI terribly Chinese?
This is the end game of the John S. McCain National Defense Authorization Act of 2019. No more weird foreigners in our defense stack, OK?
Oh, and cool it on the Ozempic. It’s not a good look. It makes you look a bit like a Nazi on meth.
I think one of the problems of our time has been treating these companies as if they are real.
Brings up the problem of middle class shrinking- goes on to bitch about lack of de-aging tech...
