Does Twitter's Chief Censor Israeli-American Yoel Roth Work For Israeli Intelligence? Or Was He Turned By America?
A brief history of foreign intrigue and "trust and safety"
File this one under: Twitter is not a business, it’s a battlefield. And right now that battlefield has been seized by the Chisraelis and China-asset Elon Musk who, despite the revelations of the #Twitterfiles, have buried the lede lest it give them away too: Twitter is crawling with spies and always has been and probably always will be.
If only people had listened to an enterprising twenty-something ginger who called it out at the time — and was promptly kicked off of Twitter by foreign spies within Twitter!
But enough about me. I was always at the head of the class — and first to be bullied. Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose. High school never ends.
Alas everyone else is catching up and now realizing that Twitter wasn’t all sunshine and roses before that Bad Man Musk took it over — and let’s be real, we’re no fans of the mobbed up China asset Musk here — it’s important to understand that Twitter has been fought over by foreign intelligence almost since its very inception. Our view? Let them all fight with each other as the interest rate climbs. Who wants a mob war within the PayPal mafia? This guy!
We’ve long known — thanks to the wonderful reporting of Nicole Perlroth — that Twitter executives often met with members of the U.S. security services.
Were those foreign executives at Twitter sharing information back to the home country after they met with American law enforcement? Of course they were.
We examined Twitter’s longstanding espionage problem way back in August of this year.
We’ve continued the research and present the evidence of another, very powerful foreign spy within Twitter who has eluded attention.
But did you know that Yoel Roth is a dual citizen of the United States and Israel? That Roth’s mother is a racist against Palestinians? That Roth opposes the boycott, divestment, sanctions movement?
Curiously Roth, who was until recently the chief censor at Twitter, seems to have stopped mentioning his Israeliness some time around 2012.
Odd timing, that. We do know there were other foreign spies at Twitter — from India, from Saudi Arabia, and from China. But Israel? Aren’t they America’s Great Ally TM?
Well, not exactly. It’s complicated and you’re not really allowed to talk about that or they’ll get really mad at you and life will get really difficult.
Despite Roth having grown up in Boca Raton, Florida (lol) and attending Swarthmore College and the University of Pennsylvania, there’s ample evidence for his Israeli citizenship and pro-Israel activism on Twitter — where else? This past hasn’t been brought up by Bari Weiss, who along with her family, has its own ties to Israeli intelligence.
There are even rumors that Roth did his compulsory military service in Israel. There are an estimated 1000+ Americans serving in the Israeli military and a rumored 1000+ more in the intelligence community. I’ve run into these Americans over the years. One even went to a New England boarding school I attended. Sometimes they’ve even freaked me out by posing as federal law enforcement, an increasingly common tactic. Still other times they’ve approached me in airport security, or going for walks, or even in the supermarket.
So did Yoel do his military service in Israel?
For what it’s worth I find this hard to believe. More likely, an exception was made for Roth given his growing position and clout within America’s tech community. Roth isn’t alone. See generally Alan MacLeod’s “Revealed: The Former Israeli spies working in top jobs at Google, Facebook, and Microsoft.”
Another Israeli-American — Dan Gross — once told me that there was an informal deal that many of the American-born Israelis or Israeli-born Americans had with the State of Israel. Make Israel look good, especially in an area of core interests, and you don’t have to don the uniform — at least officially. Gross seemed to think this was a fair trade.
Gross had more than done his service for Israel. His company, Cue, backed as it was by Chinese-Sequoia, was sold to Apple. “Besides, I helped sell Waze to Google,” Gross bragged.
Still, there’s an implicit threat here. What if you don’t make Israel look good? Could you be called up for military service? Can you — gasp! — serve your Israeli military service within the U.S.?
Antifa, the white nationalist movement, and #BlackLivesMatter are all known to US intelligence to have ties to China and other foreign intelligence actors. This fact makes sense. The purpose of these organizations is to cause division in American life. And indeed, all of them did from 2016, especially in 2020. When they say they are are chaos agents, believe them.
So when a U.S. congressman calls out antifa he should be allowed to do that. But Yoel Roth, we learn tonight, tried to stop that from happening.
Congressman Matt Gaetz was targeted by elements within Israeli intelligence for his vote against going to war in Iran, a state goal of Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu.
Was the effort to ban Gaetz part of a larger Israeli op against him? We’d have to ask Yoel.
Then there’s the larger question of whether or not Roth was part of what Bibi Netanyahu called the “binational security state” whereby American and Israeli tech is integrated — and therefore impossible to break apart. (Edward Snowden was warning about such tech being installed in the NSA.)
Ultimately Netanyahu worked to make it impossible for America to pressure Israel to live up to its humanitarian commitments to the Palestinians.
Roth (and the rest of Twitter’s) closeness with the Antidefamation League (ADL) and the FBI is concerning, to say the least, especially given ADL’s longstanding ties to Israeli intelligence.
There’s also something else that’s deeply disturbing here with Roth. Now I’m not a fan of the slur of groomer — I wish my gay friends well and I don’t think there’s a concerted effort to have sex with children — I do know this:
Yoel Roth frequented gay clubs in Tel Aviv and those are some of the least safe places for a young person to go.
And I also know that Israelis love taking foreigners to their strip clubs and to get them into both to take pictures. Why, they do it to their own too! Such a thing happened to Eliezer Marom, the former commander of the Israeli Navy (2007-2011). To the Wikipedia we go!
In March 2009, Maron was embroiled in a scandal after he was caught partying at a strip club in Tel Aviv. MK Nachman Shai called for Marom’s resignation and IDF Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi verbally rebuked him for his behavior.
Given Roth’s penchant for writing and talking endlessly about his homosexuality, how likely do you think it is that he avoided recruitment?
And why did he suddenly stop talking about Israel in 2012?
Oh, and why did he have an Israeli phone number?
And yet this explanation doesn’t entirely satisfy, does it?
The odd thing is that Musk was explicitly supporting and defending Roth just in October, and now he's basically calling him a pedophile. How crass!
And it wasn't just the FBI that Roth was cooperating with, but also DHS and DNI. (Both the FBI and DHS work closely — very, very closely — with the Israelis.)
Otherwise this series of actions is bizarre--censoring the Hunter story but later saying it was a mistake, saying Twitter is in good hands with Elon and then saying it isn't, sharing his private messages with Elon and then Elon using them against Roth.
What gives, Charles?
Simple enough. Newly emboldened by the return of Netanyahu, Roth is no longer necessary. Yes, the Chisraelis are sweeping the normal Israelis out of the tech companies and replacing them with their own. Netanyahu’s boys and girls get it.
And what’s Musk get out of all of this by letting them poke around in the Twitter archives? He gets to be in their good graces. He was told to can Yoel and deputy general counsel Jim Baker and he did what he was told.
After all, Musk needs the rare earths that the Chisraelis had previously guaranteed from the Democratic Republic of Congo to keep Tesla afloat. Tesla is being turned even more Chinese.
We will meet him — and them — on that battlefield too.
A project I created and spearheaded back in 2017 in response to my own suspension and censorship in general led to a lot of this with Twitter (dataset on employees to Project Veritas/their first sting with Clay Haynes) and therefore Elon Musk's story arc with the company too, but perhaps ran the operation just a little too well, since I still have zero recognition for it and I'm still suspended.
Something we have in common perhaps.
It's popped up a few times since then. No reason in particular to mention just bored.
