Announcing "Calls With Charles"
If you feel as if this Substack has taught you something in the past few years please consider becoming a paid subscriber.
I’ve recently decided to retire from Twitter aka X.
I’ll do the calls once a week or so. I have preference for Friday afternoon.
If you have any preference on when we should do them let me know. We’ll discuss technology, philosophy, history, and the news, among other topics.
I’m going to make the calls available to paid members only. If you’re not a paid member and you’d like to participate, write to me directly.
As for why I’m retiring from X, well, I just don’t want that sort of thing on my conscience.
I’m not doing the heroic thing — that would be to delete the app altogether — but I won’t be a participant in casting my pearls before swine. Nor will I — a prince! — wrestle with paupers.
One of the lessons from outing many of the Zionist shills or IDF agents working at Twitter is how many of them are frauds, con men, recovering(?) porn stars, or ex-felons. Outing them is most assuredly a public service, of course, but it’s not my obligation alone and there’s a tendency to play whack-a-troll. My time is more profitably spent running my genomics lab and talking to my subscribers.
There’s a larger lesson here that Elon’s existence poses. Why are we so willing to trust an alien rather than one of our own for so many of the things we say are our national priorities?
Last summer I went to a Turkish resort on the Mediterranean coast. There were members of the Russian mafia enjoying the amenities — and paying in cash. Seeing Russians happily blowing money while their countrymen fought a war of choice did not sit well with me.
Elon and I share investors. I’d like to begin severing my ties there too. There should be a repetitional price to pay for promoting war crimes — whether in Ukraine or in Gaza.
